Join us for breakfast and conversation with Carl Elefante, FAIA the morning after his lecture, “Architecture’s Relevance Revolution” at Roger Williams University. Carl Elefante, FAIA, is a principal at Quinn Evans Architects in Washington, DC, and served as AIA’s National president in 2018. Besides his service to the AIA, Elefante is a nationally recognized expert on sustainability practices, particularly through environmental, social, and historic preservation frameworks.
As an architect, he has worked on projects such as the award-winning renovation of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC. Elefante is also known for his 2007 (updated in 2012) essay “The Greenest Building Is... One That Is Already Built,” in which he argues for the environmental benefits of adaptive reuse.
