The Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan joins with the Detroit Bar Association to host the new attorney mass swearing in ceremony. Chief Judge Colombo will preside over the Admission Ceremony. Detroit Bar President Donn Fresard will extend an invitation to the newly admitted attorneys to join the Detroit Bar, one of the three oldest bar associations in the nation. Guests and media are invited to join in the celebration.
Lawyers contribute in various ways, helping clients directly and holding public offices of trust. Admission to the bar is the culmination of years of study and the successful passing of a rigorous exam. New Lawyers will take the oath of the profession. The admission ceremony marks the beginning of individuals beginning the practice of law and is celebrated with friends and family as the venerated lawyers and judges welcome the new lawyers into the profession.
New attorneys are admitted twice per year. Inspirational and aspirational stories will be shared by the newly admitted attorneys, the Detroit Bar leadership, and the Chief Judge.
Date & Time: Wednesday, November 9, 2016, auditorium opens at 11:30. The Chief Judge will begin the actual swearing in at 12:30 p.m. and all attendees should be seated. Refreshments will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Guests need not register. Those participating in the admissions ceremony are required to register.
Newly admitted attorneys to the Bar are eligible for a one-year free Detroit Bar Association membership.
