Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field, in the school setting, or with youth.
In Groups and Classrooms, the post-pandemic period offers participants and students with greater openness to and hunger for social interaction, but also carries with it the experience of navigating social challenges and confusing new norms.
Explore the special considerations that arise when working to support youth in their social development. Learn ways of working in collaboration with parents/guardians, across the social sciences, and the greater community and gain skills for exploring topics such as Dating and substance use.
Leave this conference with skills for running neurodiverse groups and classrooms virtually that foster social skill development, such as how to interact on and offline, manage social anxiety, and regulate emotion in a social setting. As someone who works with youth, learn how to support healthy social development, keep kids engaged, and further education and academic instruction in this post-pandemic time.
Part I is NOT a pre-requisite for Part II. You can attend Part II even if you did not attend Part I. If you would like more information on what was covered in this session, click below.
