Mindfulness Skills Training for the Behavioral Health Provider

This workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of what is meant by mindfulness and mindfulness techniques. Participants will learn about and experience various mindfulness skills which can be used to develop their own mindfulness practice, as well as for use in their clinical work.

Who Should Attend: 

Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and any professional that is working in the mental health field.     

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn the definition of mindfulness and will gain an understanding of what it means to "live in the present moment and the here and now."
  • Participants will learn various Mindfulness skills including the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) basic skills of core mindfulness.
  • Participants will learn the positive effects of Mindfulness and how it can aide in stress reduction. 
  • Participants will be able to identify which Mindfulness skills they will develop in their own practice.

  Laura Rivela, LCSW-R, has over twenty years of experience as a  

  behavioral health provider, educator, and director. She has been

  practicing and teaching Mindfulness since 1999.
