Low Light INSTRUCTOR Course

This class is intended for the professional  who wishes to acquire specific certification to TEACH others in the discipline of low light defense.

This course will train the successful participant how to teach low-light skills to law enforcement and security personnel for use in low light / compromised light situations.  This course will enhance the ability to perceive threat / non-threat in such a scenario, and thereby increase the ability to make effective decisions in compressed time frames under duress. 

These skills will greatly improve the ability to prevail in low light lethal force engagements. 

Participants will learn low-light principles and flashlight techniques, then demonstrate those techniques under stress in live fire scenarios.

TOPICS COVERED:

• Lighting tools review
• Fundamental tactical concepts
• Principles of low light tactics
• Using hand held flashlights in conjunction with firearms
• Engagements techniques in reduced and compromised lighting conditions
• Solo and pair drilling
• Use of corners and barricades
• Techniques for searching, clearing and entering
• Teaching Low Light Tactics

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• a current, valid NYS pistol permit or LE credentials
• eye and hearing protection
• a semi-automatic center-fired handgun
• two extra magazines
• an outside-the-waistband non-Serpa holster
• magazine holder
• 250 rounds of new factory ammo PER DAY
• PLEASE BRING YOUR DEPARTMENT ISSUED FLASHLIGHT.
  Participants may purchase the William's Tactical Flashlight at a substantial discount off MSRP in our retail store.

Because you will be utilizing your handgun on our Range for a portion of your class, Blueline requires that you complete all paperwork required of Range "Day Members" to ensure that you are aware of and are in compliance with all our Range Safety Rules.  This paperwork will be emailed to you prior to the class and should be printed and brought with you on the day of your class.  Persons not completing this paperwork may NOT be allowed access to the Range.

About the Instructor: 

JAMES WILLIAMS

A former U.S. Army officer whose experience spans five decades, Mr. Williams is internationally renowned for his expetise in martial arts / combatives / low light engagements / self-defense.  He has trained students and instructors of special operations units, government agencies, and law enforcement organizations worldwide.
