Do you have a LinkedIn profile but have no idea how to use it? The world’s largest and most valuable professional network, LinkedIn is an ideal platform to market yourself and showcase your expertise.
Join SMPS Alaska for a LinkedIn 101 presentation to gain a better understanding of how to use the platform to connect with other professionals, increase your visibility, and build your personal brand. If you aren't an active part of this community yet, there’s no time like the present to get started.
LinkedIn has housed over 500 million users, and continues to steadily increase this number; at one point, the network was adding as many as two users per second, according to Smart Business Trends.
Unlike Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram – which have added professional and business-oriented functions over time – this fast-growing social media site has always been designed with professionals, job-seekers, and businesses in mind.
During this presentation, participants will learn:
Christine White, CPSM is a creative marketing and communications professional with more than 10 years of strategic communications, content marketing, and branding experience. As the Communications Manager at R&M Consultants, Inc., a multi-disciple Alaskan professional services firm, she leads the firm’s strategic communication efforts. This includes communications planning, content marketing strategy and development, social media management, media relations and internal communications, as well as proposal management and execution. Christine enjoys communicating R&M’s mission, expertise and culture.
Christine is actively involved with several professional organizations, including SMPS Alaska where she currently serves on the board as Immediate Past President, the Alaska Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and the Associated General Contractors of Alaska. As a life-long Alaskan, she enjoys getting outside as often as possible, regularly exploring the numerous biking and hiking trails, campgrounds, and lakes in Southcentral Alaska. Christine also spends an inordinate amount of time training for her next half-marathon PR with her two furry training partners.
