SMART Information Session

The SMART Academy is an academic enrichment program that ensures that "Students Maximize AcademicResources through Technology." Led by certified Wake County Public School System teachers, the Academy's iSTREAM curriculum uses project based learning to foster student innovation in science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and math. The Academy offers year-round programs designed to develop the 21st Century thinking skills of students.

 

Sessions Include....

Project-Based Learning: Through our partnership with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, students will practically apply the Math and ELA principles that they have learned in an engagin science-project.

Interactive Instruction: In grades 3 - 8 we will use an interactive on-line curriculum that is aligned to Common Core Standards and uses adaptive assessments to help us monitor the growth of our studentst in Math and ELA. Individualized student lesson plans are developed and loaded in each student's on-line file for warok in our computer labs or at home.

Small Group Instruction: Our certified instructiors witll help students develop an understanding of reading and math concepts in a small class size. Students will also learn test takeing strategis and work on study skill development.
