This 4-hour online, intermediate workshop by Donald J. Viglione, Ph.D, is designed to help R-PAS users develop coding proficiency. Beginning with key principles for R-PAS coding, those attending this workshop will learn to identify and address the major sources of coding errors and inconsistencies. They will apply these principles and specific guidelines in sorting out this-or-that and run-on responses, recognizing distinctions between important and unimportant objects for purposes of Location and Form Quality coding, deciding between borderline cases of Space Reversal, Vague, and Synthesis responses, conducting reliable Form Quality extrapolations, discriminating among determinants close to the coding threshold, weighing the evidence in assigning cognitive codes at varying levels, and honing their skills in coding ODL, MAP, ABS and other thematic elements.  

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

1. Apply the general principles of R-PAS coding to a wide range of coding situations. 
2. Develop a deeper understanding of interpretation related to the concepts of shading, active and passive codes as well as the interpretation of color.  
3. Utilize helpful terminology, distinctions, and routines to assist in identifying, describing, and resolving coding challenges. 
4. Identify key issues associated with common coding dilemmas for most categories.
5. Apply coding principals to practice settings to gain confidence and overall understanding.

11:30 pm to 12:00 pm: Coding Location, Object Qualities. 
12:00 to 12:05 Short Break
12:05 pm to 2:30 pm: Object Qualities (continued), Form Quality, Determinants, Cognitive and Thematic Codes
2:30 pm to 3:00 pm: Other Coding Issues and Questions
 

Fees: The cost for the webinar is $100. Students (40% off), university instructors (20% off), and clinical supervisors (10% off) may request a discount code prior to completing registration by contacting us at info@r-pas.org. Students should submit proof of academic enrollment or an unofficial transcript, while instructors and supervisors should submit some documentation attesting to their role. Discounts are not available after registration is completed and partial refunds are not available if you do not apply relevant discount codes in advance. Thus, if for some reason it appears your discount code is not working, contact us before completing the registration.

Cancellations: Cancellations can be requested up to seven (7) days prior to the event (no later than Oct. 9th).  Qualifying cancellations will result in a refund of the amount paid minus a $25 processing fee, payable by check or PayPal (credit cards will not be credited).

Continuing Education Credit:  Participants are eligible for 4 hours of continuing education credit. The program must be completed in its entirety with sign-in at the beginning and sign-out at the conclusion of the webinar in order to qualify for this credit (i.e., partial hours cannot be accommodated). CE Fee: There is an additional $15 charge to obtain a CE certificate. Facilitator: 

Donald J. Viglione, Ph.D., ABAP, is a Distinguished Professor at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and past director of both the Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs in clinical psychology there.  He is a co-author of the R-PAS and has more than 35 years of experience teaching the Rorschach, more than 100 publications, and has published a total of three test manuals and reference guides.  His assessment research focuses on the Rorschach, but also includes work on malingering, trauma, violence, child, and psychometric issues.  He has offered Rorschach workshops internationally and is a Fellow of the Society for Personality Assessment.  He maintains a clinical and forensic assessment practice.
