Broadband Workshop - Public Safety Broadband 101 

PLEASE NOTE:  THE ICN ROOM (DPS BUILDING) IS FULL.  YOU CAN STILL REGISTER TO ATTEND AT A REMOTE ICN LOCATION.  If you would like to be put on a "waiting list" for the DPS builidng location you may still register and we will contact you if any openings become available. 

The Iowa Statewide Interoperable Communications System Board (ISICSB) is hosting a 1 day workshop on public safety broadband.  You've heard and read about this emerging technology, but may not understand how it will work nor what it may do for public safety.  Any public safety or elected official who is interested in learning more about this emerging technology and how it will affect public safety response is invited to attend this workshop. 

The workshop will provide public safety and elected officials:

• An overview of this emerging technology;
• How it relates to your traditional land-mobile radio systems;
• Examples of its capabilities and how it will enhance public safety response;
• The ISICSB holds a statewide license (only 21 in the nation have this) for this technology;
  
•                          Hear what part it is expected to play in Iowa's statewide plan;
•                          Learn what it can do for your Iowa agency/county/city
  

Remote locations:  If you cannot attend in person, we will set up a limited number of ICN locations for remote attendance for those that RSVP and make prior arrangements.

Expenses/lodging: Travel and lodging may be reimbursed for travel greater than 50 miles.

This workshop is being held the day before the ISICSB monthly meeting, which will be March 28, 2012 from 10:30am- 12:30pm, at the West Des Moines City Hall, following the E911 Council meeting.
