2024 Butler County Children's Water Festival - Volunteer Registration 

You are invited to volunteer at the Butler County Children's Water Education Festival on Friday, January 19, 2024.
During the festival, elementary school classroom groups will participate in hands-on activities to teach them about the importance of water both as a natural resource and as a source of drinking water.

We are seeking volunteers to help us guide the classroom groups through the event as well as volunteers to help with the logistics. No experience is required!  Descriptions of the various volunteer activities are provided below.

Volunteers at the Water Festival staff the following activities:

Classroom
School Guides: School guides lead the classroom groups attending the festival as they visit a variety of presentations. The volunteer will be resposnible for leading the class to its scheduled presentations on the campus. These volunteers will be paired with their class as the schools arrive. For continuity, we would prefer that the school guides be available for the full 5 hours the school will be on campus.  Volunteers will be informed of their time slots prior to the festival (Wednesday or Thursday - via email).

Logistics 

• Bus Router-Arriving: Help the arriving students get matched with their volunteers as they arrive on campus.
• Bus Router-Departing: Help the departing students get matched with their buses as they leave the closing.
• Hall Monitors:  Hall monitors will assist any lost children or guides and help address any problems with presenter displays.
• Breakfast/Lunch Room:  We will have coffee and donuts/bagels available for presenters and volunteers in the morning as they arrive and box lunches for lunch.  Break room volunteers will also make sure refreshments are available throughout the day and the volunteer's lunch service is running smoothly. 
• Miscellaneous: As needed to cover whatever comes up on the day of the festival.
• Cleaning Crew: Volunteers will be responsible for removing signs from the classrooms, making sure all rooms are cleaned up, helping presenters load material and any other tasks as needed.

All logisitics volunteers will receive their assignments the day of the festival and arrival time will be communicated via email the day before.  We will attempt to honor all special requests based on the number of volunteers.
