Volunteer with PAL Food Share

As we are all aware, this past year has been extremely challenging to everyone. There are families in our community who have been in financial distress, unable to purchase many things, including some of their basic needs, especially food.

The Torrington Police Activities League, the Police Department and the Police Explorers have joined forces with Food Share and the Connecticut Food Bank to distribute 1200 boxes of free food on a bi-weekly basis to our Torrington community.  We are happy to be part of such an amazing program and look forward helping our community.

I am requesting that you consider volunteering some time, giving back to your community.  Through volunteering you’re supporting the community that supports our PAL programs. Giving back to your community helps so many people, young and old, is a noble act that your family and your PAL family would be very proud of and greatly appreciate.

PAL Participants interested in volunteering should use the button below to register now!

We ask that volunteers arrive at 8:00 a.m.  The distribution point will be located on Hogan Drive near Torringford West Street.  At some point Hogan drive will be a one-way street traveling west (away from) the East School towards Torringford West Street. Depending on traffic flow, volunteers may have to walk in from Torringford West St. and Hogan Drive.  Volunteers should dress for the weather, as this event will go off rain or shine.
