Beyond Vietnam - Denver Commemoration of 50th Anniversary of Historic Sermon
April 4, 2017 is the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King delivering the speech "Beyond Vietnam" at the Riverside Church in New York. This important turning point for the Civil Rights movement was penned by Vincent Harding, Iliff professor and a pivotal part of Iliff's legacy. The 50th anniversary of the speech coincides with the 49th anniversary of Dr. King's assassination one year later to the day. This year is also Iliff's 125th anniversary. We are putting all these milestones in context together.
Iliff School of Theology is in fellowship with Veterans of Hope and the Riverside Church in New York to create a commemoration on this same date.
In Denver, Iliff will be live-streaming the event starting at 5 pm (Mountain time) on April 4. Please join us in Denver to view the celebration at Riverside Church in New York City. Light appetizers will be served during the viewing followed by a facilitated discussion.
