Dr. Siegel’s career has spanned academia, government, politics, the private sector, print and electronic media, publishing and filmmaking. 

Dr. Siegel served as Deputy Assistant to President Jimmy Carter in the White House until 1978. He played a crucial role in Anwar Sadat's historic trip to Jerusalem in November 1977. While working in the White House, he conceived the initial idea and structure for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and was the liaison to the American Jewish Community on Middle East Issues. 

Dr. Siegel has served as the Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee, spent two decades as Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s speechwriter, and won the Peabody Award for his documentary Bhutto that premiered at the Sundance Film Institute in 2011. He has written for The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and other major publications. 

He has taught at the American University, George Washington University, and is currently teaching at the NYU Center for Global Affairs.
