September Greer Business Luncheon 

Greer Business Luncheons, a monthly luncheon for networking and fellowship at Greer First Baptist Church, begins its fourth season on Tuesday, September 23, from 11:50am – 12:50pm.  Landon Powell, head baseball coach at North Greenville University, will share his testimony and Dr. Rick Ezell will talk about Dealing with Frustration.  

We are excited to have Landon Powell join us on September 23. NGU named Powell its new baseball coach on May 9, 2014.  Powell played for University of South Carolina for four seasons and was drafted in the first round, 24th overall in the 2004 Major League Baseball draft by the Athletics of Oakland California. Powell also had brief stints with the Houston Astros in 2012, and the New York Mets in 2013. Powell and his wife Allyson reside in Greenville, and have two children Holden, 4, and Ellie, 1. The Powell’s daughter Izzy passed away earlier this year from a rare autoimmune disease. The family started a charity event called Donors on the Diamond, in honor of their late daughter, and Powell also is on the board of directors for Donate for Life, an organization which helps promote organ, eye, and tissue donation.
