A Novel Event featuring Henry Winkler!

For 19 years, SHARP Literacy, Inc. has used the visual arts to improve reading skills and build vocabulary for some of Milwaukee’s most challenged students. We are excited to announce the keynote speaker for SHARP’s 14^th annual A Novel Event: actor, director, and author Henry Winkler.

 As “the Fonz,” Winkler's 10 seasons on Happy Days made him one of the most recognized actors in the world. Winkler also appeared on Fox’s series Arrested Development. Henry is currently on the cast of Royal Pains, and Children’s Hospital.

In 2003, he began writing a series of children’s novels entitled, Hank Zipzer: The World’s Greatest Under Achiever, inspired by Winkler’s struggle throughout his education due to his learning challenges. He has since toured elementary schools, reading excerpts from his best-selling books. Winkler’s mission coincides with SHARP’s mission to inspire children to read.
