WOVEN Hour to Empower Luncheon

Many years ago, Linda Thomas fell in love with her high school sweetheart.  As is often the case, in young relationships, her affection wasn't returned in the same measure.  This became apparent when she became pregnant and was abandoned.  His family paid to send her away to a home for unwed mothers, where her baby was born, and it was understood that she was never to speak of it again.  Since Virginia was a closed adoption state, it meant that she would never have access to her baby's information.  She loved this child she had never met and desperately wanted to know if he had been loved and had experienced a good life.  Years later she shared her secret with a friend at work. The friend offered to help try and find him. For seventeen years they searched and in the meantime technology continued to improve and databases grew.  Then what happened next was astounding.  Please come and hear the inspiring rest of her story.  By the way, after Linda agreed to be our November speaker, we discovered that it is National Adoption Month!  Whether you have been touched by this kind of experience or not, you will love this story and be inspired by its dramatic outcome.
