We are pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming Board Development Workshop at the Sheraton Westport Chalet in St. Louis, MO.  Through a series of interactive presentations and discussions, participants will learn ways to support mission-focused governing boards and will have the opportunity to network with other administrators, board members and Province representatives.

Program

Mr. Jack Peterson, principal of Managing for Mission, an administrative consulting firm for faith-based institutions, will be our key presenter for this workshop.  Jack will address important topics faced by governing boards, such as organizational challenges for formational ministries and best practices for boards. Other workshop topics include discernment and decision-making for governing boards, and partnering in the Marianist mission.

Registration & Travel Information

To help us prepare for a successful conference, we ask that you register online by September 15. Please also book your travel by this date.  This is important to help plan our rooming requirements and control costs. You will need to have your travel information to complete your registration form.

In planning your travel, please arrive on Friday, October 19th by 4:00 pm. The meeting will begin at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served.  The conference will run through Saturday evening, so departures should be booked for Sunday, October 21st.  Hotel accommodations and shuttle transportation from the airport will be provided. The shuttle operates every 30 minutes between the airport and the hotel.  Specific details about the shuttle will be sent in September.

Please note that check-in for the conference will begin at 3:00 pm based on room availability. We will work with the hotel to accommodate early check-ins when possible, especially for those traveling from Hawaii.  The hotel has a significant amount of areas to lounge and work.  There are also several restaurants in the complex if you arrive before lunch.
