If you’re having difficulty figuring out what a browser is, how the Internet works, or what a URL is, this is the class for you! Learn the very basic structure and function of the Internet so you can browse with ease and start exploring. We’ll cover the components of a web browser (including what it is and why it’s important), how to search on the Internet, how to bookmark favorite pages, and tips for safe Internet use. No previous experience required.
Instructor: Ali Birnbach
Ali Birnbach grew up in the East Bay before heading to Knox College in Illinois, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Lit. After experiencing the Midwest, she attended Boston’s Simmons GSLIS program, where she earned her master’s degree in Library and Information Science. She is currently a reference librarian and volunteer coordinator at the Mill Valley Public Library, and enjoys providing reading suggestions.
