Photoshop Fundamentals

In this beginner-level class we will cover the essentials of Photoshop CS6. Topics covered will include becoming familiar with the Photoshop user interface, using the tools panel, making selections, working with layers, applying filters, and making basic image adjustments. This class is geared towards students who have experience working on the Mac OS and are comfortable with computers. We will move at a relatively fast pace in order to cover as much material as possible. No background in Photoshop is required.

Instructor: Elaine Gruenke
Elaine Gruenke has worked as a professional graphic designer for the past fifteen years. She has a special passion for Photoshop, and her experience includes working on fine art for the Venice Biennale using Photoshop, as well as working as a project manager and lesson designer for Adobe Press’ Photoshop CS4 Classroom in a Book, Photoshop CS5 Classroom in a Book, and Photoshop CS6 Classroom in a Book. She is currently a Master of Arts candidate in Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design, and is the owner of Smartwork Design (www.smartwork-design.com).

Experience required: Basic computer skills, knowledge of Mac OS, using a keyboard and mouse
