C.J. Johnson Hook, Line & Sinker Celebrity Fishing Derby 

Earn bragging rights for the biggest fish ever caught in Reno by entering the First Annual C.J. Johnson Hook, Line, and Sinker Celebrity Fishing Derby. The fishing competition runs from 5:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at ArrowCreek Country Club on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Entry Fee Per Person $50. Prizes will be given for the most fish caught, largest fish, most poundage and tagged fish. There are plenty of opportunities to fish from shore and bring in the big one.

Come stay with us and mingle with the Legends. Two night room packages available. Spend Friday and Saturday night at one of our casino host properties and enjoy the entire Legends Celebrity weekend first hand. Fee ($750) includes Friday and Saturday night hotel stay, entry into the Pairings Event on Friday night with celebrities, cigars, dinner, also includes single entry into the Peppermill Legends of the Game $40,000 Celebrity Charity Slot Tournament on Saturday. Does not include entry fee for Sunday's C.J., Johnson Hook, Line & Sinker Celebrity Fishing Derby.

The Rules. Please Read Carefully. 

  1. All current state laws, rules, and regulations apply, regardless of what is or is not stated in these Derby rules.
  2. Registration will be available online until Monday, May 19, 2014. Registrations are non-transferrable.
  3. Weigh station will be open for the event, and will close promptly at the designated time.
  4. When fish arae weighed, they are to be free of dirt and debris. Any visible tackle or visible bait must be removed prior to weighing.
  5. Registration form that is receive at check in must be presented when weighing a fish.
  6. Grand Prizes will be presented at 7 p.m. at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino at the awards presentation at the Tuscany Ballroom.
  7. Winning Category Certificate must be presented to claim any prize.
  8. If prize winners fail to claim their prize, or cannot be contacted, within seven days after the close of the Derby, the prize will be forfeit to the fishing derby.
  9. Derby Committee has final approval of registered fish and reserve the right to inspect, dissect or exclude any fish.
  10. By entering this Derby, you give permission for the use of any photographs taken at the Derby for advertising purposes.
  11. To help ensure the safety of all participants, the Derby Committee reserves the right to close or cancel the derby event at any time for any reason.
  12. This is a fundraising event and entry fees are non-refundable.
  13. Courtesy/Etiquette. No angler shall cut across another who is fishing a spot. Anglers shall take priority in order of their arrival at the spot. Anglers should remain at least 10 yards apart. Give consideration to anglers within casting distance. Do not cast across another angler.
  14. There shall be no cutting of trees, undergrowth, weeds, etc.
  15. No shooting, building of fires, camping, canoeing or launching of boats shall be allowed on the land or waters without the prior approval of the Executive Director of the Derby.
  16. Conduct. Be considerate to all people, fishers and non-fishers alike. Park wisely and use only designated parking areas. Use recognized access routes only and take all litter and discarded nylon home with you.

Johnson Hook, Line, and Sinker Fishing Derby, The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, Caesars Entertainment, and all of the Legends of the Game Celebrity Tour sponsors are not liable for any injury or loss of life or property IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER.  By entering the event, you accept full responsibility for your own safety and the knowledge of your surroundings. Responsibly store and secure your personal belongings.

The First Annual C.J. Johnson HOOK, LINE, & SINKER FISHIG DERBY COMMITTEE RIGHTS: Each contestant expressly agrees that he/she shall have no right or standing to contest any action of the Hook, Line, and Sinker Derby Committee, or otherwise make any claim against the Committee in any court of law or other forum. Each contestant entering the Derby does so at his/her own risk. The Committee’s decisions are definitive and final. Grievances must be presented, in writing and signed, to the Committee within 48 hours. The Committee will investigate all grievances and reserves the right to call witnesses, to question them and all parties involved. The Committee may disqualify from the Derby (or any portion thereof) and/or from any or all future Derbies, any person or persons who falsify information, violate the Derby Rules, act in an unsportsmanlike manner, or falsely testify for or against any person.
