  • Describe MiM examples of successful processes for developing parks and open spaces.

Workshop B -- Connected Communities: Resources, Tools, and Best Practices

New legislation, mapping tools, and resources that can help communities 

Objectives: 

  • Understand the Walkshed analysis for school commutes
  • Understand rural nuances and the Rural Toolkit
  • Identify best practices for community engagement
  • Describe MiM examples of successful processes for developing and implementing pedestrian/ bike paths.

Workshop C -- Corner Stores and Farmer’s Market’s: Healthy and Farm Fresh

Boost your knowledge and skills in developing, expanding, and sustaining healthy corner stores and farmer’s markets.

Objectives: 

  • Share best practices on healthy markets and farmers markets
  • Identify tools and strategies to overcome barriers
  • Identify stakeholder and community engagement best practices

Workshop D -- Implementing School Nutrition Regulations with School Wellness Committees

Explore options for school nutrition regulations implementation and how leverage school wellness committees for success.

Objectives: 

  • Describe strategies from successful communities, including what helped move their initiatives forward and what challenges are inherent in this work, and apply them locally.
  • Identify tools/resources to assist participants in supporting school districts and wellness committees in the implementation of the regulations.
