Abstract:  What makes a good presentation? What can you do to help your audience pay attention to and retain the most important material? Incorporating findings from cognitive science, psychology, practical experience, and best practices from the scholarship of teaching and learning, this presentation offers a number of guidelines for making your public presentations, especially ones using slides, better.

BIO:  Dr. Keith Smith is an Associate Professor of Political Science at University of the Pacific, in Stockton, CA, where he is teaching about the intersection of politics, policy, and administration. He is also an avid cyclist and he looks forward to the resumption of baseball (someday).
