Abstract:  Networking can serve as a valuable strategy at each and every stage of your career development. Networking is about making connections and building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. To be effective in networking, however, it needs to be a planned and ongoing effort. Successful networkers set goals, develop strategies for achieving them and take action. During this interactive presentation, we will look at what it takes to make your networking -- both in person and through social media -- easier, effective, and maybe even enjoyable. We will discuss common mistakes people make when networking, how to make your networking natural, and how to build upon the relationships established. We will also look at the importance of social media and how you can use it effectively as a networking technique. Remember to bring your business cards to this event!
