African Drumming Workshops Series

with special guest Aly Traore!


An AMAZING CHANCE to learn with Aly Traore, djembe soloist for the National Ballet of Guinea. He is an excellent player and teacher who has recorded as djembe solist on Mamady Keita's album Mandeng Djara. Aly has taught students around the world and brings his unique personality and charisma to the classes. ONLY IN WINNIPEG FOR A VERY SHORT TIME!

Aly Traore started djembe training at an early age, and started with the National Ballet in 1993.  Among his many accolades, Aly has recorded as djembe soloist on the album "Mandeng Djara" with MAMADY KEITA!! Aly was soloist for the National Ballet of Guinea "Djoliba" before moving to Japan in 2007. He has has toured extensively and taught in many public schools, private dance schools, and in the Hong Kong University. Aly established a school for learning traditional music of West Africa to Japan in Kagoshima, where he was responsible for the technique classes from 2008-2012.
