As congregations across America join together to welcome Shabbat, join Beth Shalom as we celebrate Shabbat family style! Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. with Tot Shabbat at 6:45, Jr. Congretation & Adult Ed at 7:00, and Shabbat Services at 8:00. Registration for dinner is required, all other programs are free. 7:00 p.m.: Shabbat in Literature (Adult Education Program)
Jewish literature has exploded in the 21st century! This presentation will address how Jewish literature has changed over the years and will include 4 book talks (of books with great reviews) by members of Beth Shalom. A bibliography of recommended books will be provided that includes some of the newer fiction -- perfect for reading on Shabbat and any time!
8:00 p.m.: Shabbat Evening Services. Rabbi Grossman speaks on "The Secret Meaning of Shabbat."
During Shabbat Services, learn about the secret meaning and significance of the Sabbath and Sabbath traditions through the lens of Jewish Mysticism in this mini discussion.
Preregistration for the dinner is required, all other programs are free:
