The 6 hour course's objective is to both review previously attended courses, as well as introduce new perspectives and ideas with regard to recovery coaching and peer supports. The method of learning will involve the introduction of topics, allow for individual introspection, small group interaction, followed by large group discussion.
Participants will:
— Understand Recovery Oriented Systems and the landscape of addiction treatment in todays world
— Explore why word choice and phrases matter
— Become familiar with a Harm Reduction approach
— Describe the 5 components of Recovery and the levels of addiction severity
— Examine real life examples of ethical situations that coaches face daily, and their resolutions
— Learn why self care is related to ther concept of Moral Injury
— Experience peer based support approaches
— Multiple Pathways and why choice is key
— Practice newly acquired skills
