Practical and Creative Ways to Fundraise on GiveMN

Workshop Description
Traditional fundraising models don't fit every organization and staff are stretched thin.
As HUGE Theater has discovered, GiveMN has rarely-used features that can help your organization with fundraising year-around as well as on Give to the Max Day. Last year, HUGE ranked 10th overall in number of donations received among non-profits of every size across the state.

In this presentation, Nonprofit Consultant and HUGE Theater Managing Director Molly Chase will use HUGE as an example, showing the good, bad and ugly of the behind-the-scenes development of a simple idea into HUGE's largest fundraiser.
Along the way, we will explore a new approach fundraising that is less taxing to staff and more meaningful to the people organizations serve.
Molly Chase, Nonprofit Consultant
Molly’s consulting services include change management, financial leadership, business plan writing, and strategic planning. She takes a practical and engaging approach to goal setting, prioritization, project evaluation and generating process improvements. Her experience includes ownership of two companies, 4+ years as managing director of Springboard for the Arts, and 12+ years development of new online products for Discovery Communications (Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, TLC, and HowStuffWorks) and Turner Broadcasting (Cartoon Network, Adult Swim). She is in her sixth year serving as the Managing Director of HUGE Improv Theater, where she helped the nonprofit theater eliminate its construction debt and build a 3-month working capital reserve within its first two years of operation. In the six years the theater has been open, HUGE’s annual budget has grown more than threefold, from $164,200 in 2011 to $561,500 in 2017. While at HUGE, Molly has built two highly effective 3-year strategic plans, distilling larger mission into actionable steps with program milestones and financial forecasts.
