Publicity Boot Camp

Have you ever wondered why some arts organizations always get in the news and you never get any coverage? In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to develop and ROCK a media relations/publicity program!

From gaining an understanding of the current media landscape and the importance of planning, you’ll come away with some helpful resources, including general rules of thumb, tools of the trade and ways to leverage success for your organization and events.

Presented by:
Anne Q. Ulseth is a communications expert who brings insight, knowledge and experience to help clients engage their audiences, connect with opportunities and achieve their strategic goals. Since opening her independent public relations consulting business in 1987, Anne has designed and implemented a wide variety of successful communication plans, which have resulted in greater visibility and support for local nonprofits. She lives in Minneapolis and has a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Building Foundations track trainings are targeted to small arts organizations who may not have as much experience or as many resources as some more established organizations. Terms and concepts may be explained to assure everyone is learning from the workshop. Anyone at any level is welcome to register, but those with more knowledge on the topic may not find this as relevant to their work.
