Presenter Bios

Hlee Lee is a community-based, globally minded storyteller in the Twin Cities. She is a photographer, videographer, communications professional, and production specialist with a passion for telling community-based stories with a global twist. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from the University of St. Thomas and has more than ten years experience working with nonprofits and storytelling. She has never been one to shy away from a challenge. When presented with a challenge or opportunity there are two things she keeps in mind: How does this align with my mission—to help and serve the community, while doing what I love and enjoy?

Ben McGinley is a self-taught video producer in the Twin Cities. He has a performance and writing background, and has a history of making weird theater and dance films with his wife, choreographer and writer Laura Holway. Together they also co-curate a living room performance series called Small Art. Occasionally, he works with GTC Dramatic Dialogues as a facilitator for issue-based talkback theater on college campuses nation-wide. And more recently he began producing a podcast story series about addiction and recovery called Thirty Minutes in Front of a Vending Machine. He’s obsessed with serial television, cooking, and his wife and his little boy, Fox Carroll.

The Twin Cities Media Alliance brings  media professionals and engaged citizens together, to improve the quality, accountability and diversity of the local media, and giving the public the tools they need to become more active participants in the emerging media environment.
