"Sports and Sunday: Who do you Worship?" Registration required.

On “game day” we fill stadiums and arenas to capacity ready to fervently support our favorite teams. The price of admission is seldom cheap. We spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars for a ticket. If we can’t see it in person, we turn on our televisions and spend hours on end watching, cheering and booing. Imagine if this same passion was experienced in our houses of worship. Imagine if we approached our spirituality with such enthusiasm.

Louisville Seminary’s 2017 Festival of Theology takes a challenging and relevant look at where our priorities stand in the face of the sports and sports entertainment industry. If we can pour souls into the home team’s victory and suffer in defeat, what keeps us from doing the same on the Sabbath?
