Cancer Prevention:  Solutions in Your Kitchen

Breast cancer strikes one in eight women.

Colon cancer strikes one in 19 men, one in 20 women.

About 1 man in 6 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.

As grim as these numbers are, the rate of cancer deaths has been trending downward since the 1990s. At the same time, the research on cancer prevention has continued to provide hope that with lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, we can increase our chances of not becoming a cancer statistic.

What hasn't changed over the years is this: preventing cancer is better than treating it. And one of the best ways to prevent cancer is right in your own kitchen.

Find out what the current science says about how you can lower your risk for cancer and other chronic disease at this educational webinar (1.5 PDUs):

Cancer Prevention: Solutions in Your Kitchen

The evidence is stronger than ever: eating a healthy diet could prevent or slow the growth of some common forms of cancer. Many of us know this and truly want to adopt good eating habits, but find it difficult to sort through the conflicting information in the media and the hype in the grocery store.  Can you eat beef? Are some fruits better than others? Should you drink some alcohol, only red wine, or none at all? What about cooking methods such as outdoor grilling?

Using a blend of evidence-based data, science, and practical applications, Jill Weisenberger will clear up the confusion and get you on the right path. She will show you how to be strategic in the kitchen by helping you choose foods that are linked to cancer prevention, avoid foods and the cooking methods that may contribute to cancer risk, and understand the role of fiber on colon cancer.

In this 90-minute program including Q&A, you will explore:

  • Cancer-fighting compounds in fruits, vegetables and legumes and their mechanisms of action
  • The role of alcohol on breast and other cancers.
  • The myth of the superfood
  • The qualities of a cancer-prevention diet
  • Latest research on the obesity-cancer connection
  • Top foods everyone should eat for good health

Plus, Ms. Weisenberger will review the latest research and recommendations on exercise in cancer prevention and she will share her easy-to-use plan for incorporating exercise and nutritious food into your routine.

Nutrition is science. . . and everything you will hear at this webinar is based on science and data, but you also will take away practical strategies for incorporating healthy eating into your lifestyle.

After this webinar, you will be able to take action immediately on cancer prevention and weight loss. . . and hopefully avoid becoming a cancer statistic.
