There are dozens of components to conducting field research that most of us never learn about in class.  This webinar will take you through all the essential steps in field research—from what you should you do prior to, during, and after your research, as well as how you can save time and avoid delays in your project.

In this 90-minute program including Q&A, you will broaden and deepen your knowledge of the field research process while you learn how to:
• Design and implement a research project that can lead to publication
• Identify types of assessment measures available for a given study
• Recruit participants…and retain them
• Address unexpected occurrences
• Refine your tactics prior to data collection
• Build on your success through post-research activities

This practical program will cover dozens of nitty gritty details not covered in the typical general overview you may have had before:

• Working with a budget
• Confidentiality; storing and encryption of data
• Using the information technology systems in place
• Getting the right cohort
• IRB approval
• The  pros and cons of different tools

And much more.

Meg Mangan has guided hundreds of students and junior faculty through this process…and she has heard the horror studies of field research gone awry and lost opportunities to advance one’s career.
With years of experience as a research manager, Meg has worked with investigators to help develop and implement countless research projects. She has experienced the demise of studies in field research which have gone awry as a result. Prepare yourself to be a success and sign up for this informative presentation.

She will show you how to develop a solid action plan that will help you avoid the mistakes that others have made, manage your time effectively, and keep you on the right path, all while staying within accepted boundaries for field research that involves humans.
