Creating and Using Digital Movies in the Classroom and Beyond

For better or for worse, today's teens and pre-teens (and many adults too!) are hooked on video.  From YouTube to Wii, they are spending many hours taking in information or interacting with video delivery systems.

Why not use that to your advantage by incorporating digital movies into your instructional presentations or lesson plans?

AAFCS is proud to offer the following educational webinar (1.5 PDUs):

"Creating and Using Digital Movies in the Classroom and Beyond"

Presented by Tina Shank

90-minute program including Q & A

September 30, 4pm ET*

In just 90 minutes, here's what you will learn and discuss:

  • Why digital movies should be a part of your teaching strategy-regardless of the age of your students
  •  Practical tips on how to choose movie topics
  • Everything you need to know to create your own movie-it's easy!!
  • See actual classroom-tested examples that worked

Plus you will receive downloadable handouts and lists of gear/supplies to simplify the moviemaking process and get you started! And Tina will be a resource for you even after the webinar.

About the presenter:  Tina Shank is a family and consumer sciences teacher at Manor Middle School in Lancaster, PA.  Although one of her movies won a national award and she has presented multiple times on integrating technology into the classroom, Tina says she is definitely "not a technology expert!"   She is a teacher with 35 years of experience who recognizes how technology can enhance the learning environment.

Who should register?   Teachers, Extension agents, and others involved in educational initiatives.  If you are interested in learning and applying innovative technology strategies to break through the sometimes humdrum classroom experience, this is for you!

*Not able to attend on September 30th?  No problem!  This event will be archived on the AAFCS website for the same low registration rates (available Sept - October).
