MAEA Spring 2023 Conference

Join us March 24th-25th for the Mississippi Art Education Association's Spring 2023 Conference in Laurel, MS. Experience the charming town of Laurel, MS, the setting for HGTV's Hometown.
This year's conference will feature local artists hosting workshops on their crafts, as well as a Chihuly exhibit at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art. We are excited to announce that HGTV's Adam Trest will be our featured artist and speaker for the event. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from and be inspired by Adam and other talented artists in their studios and at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art.
SCHEDULE:
The conference will begin Friday, March 24th at the Lauren Roger's Museum of Art at 4:00 pm followed by a dinner (Pay for your own meal) at Mimmo's Italian Restaurant at 312 Central Ave, Laurel, MS 39440.
Saturday, March 25th, will include a full day of hand-on professional development workshops with local Laurel artists at the museum and at their individual artist studios.
Workshop choices will include a woodworking session at The Scotsman Co Woodworking shop, a street print breakout session, a session about the town's murals, and other workshops led by local laurel artists. There will be an opportunity to participate in a walking architectural tour, spend time downtown, and experience the Laurel arts culture. This conference is designed to be walkable, so you can easily explore all that Laurel has to offer.
You will have an opportunity to choose your sessions at a later date.
COST:
The cost is $65 for members and $85 for non-members which includes all workshop supplies and lunch on Saturday, which is being catered by The Knight Butcher and Lee's Coffee and Tea.
CEUs:
If you attend both Friday evening and Saturday you can earn 1 CEU. Saturday only will earn you .75 CEU. The cost for the CEU will be $10.00 and will need to be paid with cash or check at the conference.

Lauren Rogers Museum of Art is located at 565 N 5th Ave, Laurel, MS 39440.

Just like the NAEA, we do not take purchase orders as payment, but you can enter your purchase order number and we will invoice your school. All conference fees must be paid by March 17th, 2023.
