MICHAEL DRURY
Michael Drury is the Chief Economist for McVean Trading & Investments, LLC. He joined the firm in 1992, after serving for five years as Senior Economist with Allen Sinai at Shearson Lehman Brothers and its successor firms. Michael began his career in New York in 1982 as Senior Economist at A. Gary Shilling and Company. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and did his graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Michael assesses macroeconomic developments around the world to help develop hedging strategies using futures markets in interest rates, currencies and industrial materials. He travels extensively within the United States and China, as well as to Japan, Europe, and Latin America. Michael is the author of McVean Trading's "Weekly Economic Update." He is the Vice Chair for Programs at the Global Interdependence Center, a board member of the National Association for Business Economics, President of the Economic Club of Memphis, and founder and first President of the MidSouth Association for Business Economics (a chapter of NABE). He is a member of the National Business Economic Issues Council (NBEIC) and a non-resident member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.
JIM WILLIAMS
Jim Williams is an entrepreneur, energy economist and mathematician with 35+ years of experience providing forecasts and analysis for companies engaged in production or use of oil and natural gas. He is President of WTRG Economics, located in London, Arkansas. He has authored several hundred articles on oil and gas pricing, production, supply and demand in WTRG's Energy Economist Newsletter and on the WTRG Economics web site. Provide forecasts and analysis for companies engaged in production or use of oil and natural gas. Provide litigation support for upstream and downstream oil and natural gas pricing cases. Widely quoted in the U.S. and international press. Consult with various companies and investment firms on oil and gas related projects.
MARTIN J. DURBIN
Martin (Marty) J. Durbin is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at API, where he integrates API's broad advocacy capabilities in pursuit of the organization's and the industry's priority public policy objectives. Marty returned to API after serving for nearly three years as President and CEO of America's Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), representing North America's leading independent natural gas exploration and production companies, where he oversaw ANGA's market expansion efforts with industry, governmental and consumer stakeholders. At the end of 2015, Marty guided ANGA's ultimate combination into API to better achieve the mission of both organizations.Prior to joining ANGA, Mr. Durbin served as Executive Vice President of Government Affairs at the American Petroleum Institute (API). During this earlier tenure at API, Mr. Durbin significantly increased visibility and engagement in policy and political debates at the local, state, and national level, and represented API frequently through congressional testimony, TV, radio and print media.
REX NELSON
Rex Nelson is senior editor at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. You may know Rex Nelson as the preeminent expert on food, politics, and anything else related to Arkansas.
Nelson is no stranger to most in the state, and has had one of the most versatile careers of any high profile Arkansan out there. As a high school student, he carried jobs at the local radio stations in Arkadelphia, plus the local newspaper. For close to four decades, he has been the play-by-play voice for his college alma mater's football team, the Ouachita Baptist Tigers, which boasts one of the largest Division Two radio networks in America.
