Why Become A Member?

VDDA brings current issues addressed at a national level to a local forum to make critical information more readily available to Virginia’s communities. Virginia’s unique character is an important resource and the preservation of Virginia’s historic downtowns strengthens the economic health of our communities. VDDA is Virginia’s only multi-disciplinary association dedicated to the revitalization of Virginia’s historic downtowns and we hope you will join us today.

VDDA understands that in this current economy it can be difficult to join organizations. VDDA membership offers you the opportunity to meet professionals from various fields including: economic development professionals, elected officials, business owners, architects and many other stakeholders who are interested in revitalizing Virginia’s historic downtowns.

This year, VDDA has 3 levels of membership:

Organization - $125.00 Receive all the benefits of membership for up to three employees of your organization. Benefits are not limited to a single, named employee.

Individual - $75.00 Receive all the benefits of membership for a single individual.

Student - $25.00 Receive all the benefits of membership (must be a full time student).

The Virginia Downtown Development Association is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, created in 1982, to focus on the importance of Virginia’s downtowns. The mission is to bring attention to the significance of historic downtowns to Virginia’s vitality. VDDA also enhances the effectiveness of organizations, individuals and communities to foster vibrant economic development.

Downtown revitalization can lead to so many benefits to a community including; business retention, housing rehabilitation, economic development and employment recruitment to just name a few items that can be improved through downtown revitalization.  As you are focusing on groups to join that can help you with professional development, VDDA is the perfect organization that balances the need for professional development and networking along with keeping the costs for your membership manageable for your organization’s budget.

Why Become a Sponsor?

The Virginia Downtown Development Association (VDDA) is a non-profit organization which has advocated and supported downtown revitalization throughout Virginia for more than twenty-five years.  VDDA is Virginia’s only multi-disciplinary association dedicated to the revitalization of Virginia’s historic downtowns.  Memberships and Sponsorships make VDDA’s programming possible and that is why I am writing now and asking for your support.

As a VDDA sponsor, you will have access to professionals representing local, state and federal government agencies, and private sector businesses as well.  You will receive excellent exposure of your products and services while being recognized for your active support and community involvement.  Details on sponsorship opportunities and pricing are attached to this letter.

We acknowledge these are challenging economic times, but feel strongly that the benefits of becoming a 2014 VDDA sponsor far outweigh the cost for any particular sponsorship level. Our Board of Directors has set the 2014 event schedule and we are very excited about announcing some new events and partnerships for some of our 2014 events that will provide some valuable exposure to all of our sponsors for the upcoming year.
