His Eminence

Chöje Ayang Rinpoche

Will Lead a Powerful 10-Day

Phowa Meditation Retreat

at Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Temple, in Eugene, OR, USA

H. E. Ayang Rinpoche

His Eminence Chöje Ayang Rinpoche is considered the world's living master of Phowa, the transference of consciousness at the time of death. A lineage-holder of both the Nyingma and Drikung Phowa traditions, Rinpoche continues the unbroken lineage of Drikung Phowa masters originating from Buddha Vajradhara. Rinpoche refers to training in Phowa as ”the Tibetan Buddhist way of fearless living, dying and liberation”. Click HERE for more information on Phowa, or HERE for more information on H.E. Ayang Rinpoche.

This ten-day course will feature Phowa Lung or oral transmission of traditional practices for both the Nyingma and Drikung Kagyud traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as in-depth teachings on visualizations and other forms of meditative practice, including teachings on how to perform Phowa for oneself or for others at the time of death. During the event, Rinpoche will also confer an Amithaba empowerment, a teaching on the Vajrasattva meditation and a teaching on the three exellences.

The the entire 10 day retreat will be divided into 25 individual sessions. Many of the sessions will be open to the public on a drop-in basis. The cost of attending the entire retreat is $300. Individual sessions are $25 each. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Click HERE for a daily retreat schedule, with drop-in sessions indicated. There are no prerequisites for attending this retreat. Contact the office if you have specific questions or requests, or click through this page to register.

Open to the public. Everyone welcome.
