The Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) invites BDC members to nominate an outstanding business for consideration for this year’s George W. Ashby Award for Business Excellence, awarded annually at the BDC's Annual Meeting in January to a business that exemplifies the contributions and spirit of one of Berwyn’s early architects. Mr. Ashby was responsible for the design of every grade school in Berwyn as well as J. Sterling Morton High School.
The BDC Board of Directors will review nominations and vote at the December Board meeting. The winner will be honored at the BDC’s Annual Meeting on Wenesday, January 13 at 9:00 a.m. at Pierre's Banquets, 3237 S Harlem Ave. All nominees will be invited to participate in the Annual Meeting. In addition to the recognition, the awarded business will receive a $100 credit to be applied to a new or renewed BDC membership. Save the date!

nomination form. Review the criteria below and provide thorough information to support
your nomination by answering the questions on the registration page.

George W. Ashby Award Criteria
• Business must present a professional and favorable image to Berwyn.
• Quality of goods or services being delivered will be considered.
• Exterior and interior visual appeal and maintenance will be considered.
• Customer service, including how customers are treated and welcomed, will be considered.
• Nominees categorized under Section 501 of the US Tax Code, government bodies and public
entities able to levy taxes will not be considered.
• Business must be located in the City of Berwyn and possess a current Berwyn business license.
• Nominations will be solicited from active BDC members only.
• Nominations should be submitted by a colleague. Self nominations will not be accepted.
• Past Ashby Award recipients are not eligible to receive the award more than once.
