The Ballston Spa Central School District’s Wellness Day is returning! The day will begin with a Kids Color Run followed by the 7th running of Scotties Stampede 5k. After the races the Wellness Expo returns offering giveaways, demonstrations and helpful information about health and wellness.
Wellness Day will kick off at 7:45 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 with registation for the free, Kids Color Run. The 7th running of the Scotties Stampede 5k Run/Walk will follow with registration/check-in beginning at 8:45 am. Both races will begin and end at the Wood Road Elementary School. The Wellness Expo will immediately follow the races from 8:30 am - 11:00 am in the Wood Road cafeteria/gymnasium. Vendors will be able to set-up beginning at 7:30 am. These events encourage families in the community to participate in healthy and active lifestyles and learn about local wellness organizations. The expo is free for individuals and families.
The Scotties Stampede 5k is a professionally timed race. Proceeds from entry fees and sponsorships financially benefit the Ballston Spa Partnership for Innovation in Education Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, which supports programs throughout the district including Scotties BackPack Program, Sponsor-A-Scholar, Community Literacy, STEM Enrichment, Robotics, and Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School.
