TRAINING OUTLINE

The Foot Care Nurses Reflexology (LEVEL I) 3-day training is designed for RNs and RPNs and will cover the theory and practice of Reflexology. The theory will include the definition of Reflexology, its benefits, and modification of pressure to meet the needs of specific clients.

You will learn how to relate to the body via zones and reflex points and how Anatomy and Physiology (all the body systems) relate to the feet. The practical work covered in this course prepares you to give a full Reflexology treatment.  On completion you will receive a Certificate of Participation.

You can use Reflexology treatments with your clients as a stand-alone, non-invasive foot-care modality which increases circulation and relaxes tensions in the body or combine it with other foot care practices.

CERTIFICATION OPTIONS: There are 3 levels of certification options and each level is a stand-alone training which gives you a RAC certificate of your training.

LEVEL I -- At this level you will complete a 3-day skills-building training learning theory and practical work. You are not required to become a member of the Reflexology Association of Canada (RAC).  This Level I does, however, give you the option to go on to Level II and/or Level III.   On completion you will receive a Certificate of Participation.

LEVEL II -- At the Level II stage, membership of RAC is required. You would complete your Home Study Guide (25 hours of study) and do a 2-hour closed book Written Exam with a required passing mark of 80%.  On successful completion you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

LEVEL IIILevel III requires the pre-requisite of Levels I & II.  To fulfill the designation of a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist (RCRT), completion of 50 case studies is required, plus a full day of training, a 3-hour Mandatory Review Day and completion of a Practical Exam. A passing mark of 80% is required.   On successful completion you may apply for your RCRT designation.
