The Diabetes Footcare Program is a 2 day program which includes some general updates of diabetes and the impact of the disease on the feet and lower extremities. The role of the nurse in comprehensive footcare assessment, ulcer prevention and footcare management is emphasized. Various assessment skills are included.
This program includes an afternoon with clients with diabetes where students will have an opportunity to provide foot assessments and determine the client's risk factors. Client education is emphasized.
