GOODNESS... GRACIOUS... GREAT BALLS OF FIRE IS TURNING 27!!!

Thank you for your loyal participation and support of the Great Balls of Fire 9-Ball Billiards Challenge. If it were a regular year, we would all be coming together February 13th at the Wynkoop, to enjoy friends, food and tons of fun while raising funds for Ability Connection Colorado’s Kyle E. Fisher Fund and Creative Options for Early Childhood Education Program.

However, just like so many events throughout Denver and the Metro area, we have had to postpone this beloved event as our community continues to face ongoing health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Wynkoop Brewing Company has graciously penciled our Billiards Challenge in for Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the hopes that we may still be able to hold a safe 2021 event. Currently, this option is still very uncertain.

While we have all been effected by the pandemic in some way, Ability Connection Colorado (ACCO) too has been greatly impacted in the areas of fundraising through the cancellation of special events. Although we are not able to gather next weekend at the Wynkoop, ACCO continues to offer at-risk children the same level of care they have always offered, and this requires funding. ACCO relies on the usual February Billiards’ donations to meet funding needs.
ACCO can not provide the following without your help and generosity:
  • Social-emotional, cognitive, communicative and physical development services.
  • Screenings for developmental and health concerns resulting in early discovery of any delays or potential delays.
  • Full time professional staff and support teams like Bilingual Early Childhood Educators, Special Education Consultants, Social Emotional Coaches, Mental Health Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Family Coaches.
  • New this year: Supplies to keep the in-person environment COVID FREE and Virtual Learning Technology.
All of this works toward ALL children becoming school ready, lifetime learners and successful members of their communities.

Please consider SIGNING UP OR DONATING TODAY at the level you have in the past. Your donation will count towards your participation in the event in May. If the event cannot be held, your donation becomes 100% tax-deductible.

As updates become available, we will email you and post on the event webpage:  http://bit.ly/GreatBallsofFireBilliards. If you have any questions, please contact Terri Armstrong at (303) 226-5520 or tarmstrong@abilityconnectioncolorado.org.

Again, we wish to thank all of our sponsors, participants, and volunteers! We hope we can all get together safely in May, but until then, please remember to take care of yourselves, stay healthy, and know we are here for you always.

Stay Safe and Stay Connected!

Kyle E. Fisher

The tournament is dedicated to Kyle Fisher who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Brian and Kelli Fisher felt very fortunate that they were able to provide all of the early intervention services that their son needed to achieve his greatest potential. They were also very concerned about the many children born with disabilities who did not have this same opportunity. Ability Connection Colorado honors Kyle’s legacy with the Kyle E. Fisher Early Childhood Education Center. With this center in mind, the Fisher family established the Kyle E. Fisher Memorial Fund when Kyle passed away. Funds, raised through the billiards challenge provide critical & comprehensive early education for at-risk children age birth to five. As a result, at-risk infants, toddlers and preschool children became physically and emotionally healthier, and school ready. Learn more...
