At the Table

Faith communities gather around the Lord’s Table, i.e., the altar, regularly. It shapes our time together. What would it look like to expand on that concept and come together in community?

At the Table is a relational ministry for Holy Cross. We meet monthly at an area restaurant in a semi-private space. As we gather at the table, we have the opportunity to share with one another through conversations about life and faith. Order from the menu and enjoy good fellowship and food. Everyone will be responsible for their own charges.

On June 14 we will discuss the Theme: Talking About Faith

“I don’t know what to say.” These words may speak to a wide range of situations in our life. In the moment we may struggle with something to say only to reflect later and uncover the words that would have provided a meaningful response in that situation. It happens when we are trying to provide comfort, guidance or insight in conversation with another person.

What about when it comes to talking about faith? Sometimes we think there needs to be a particular way to present or represent certain ideas about faith and we consider ourselves unprepared or not qualified to discuss such matters. We need to relax and remember that perhaps the most meaningful sharing is from a personal perspective and not a rigid formulae or a specific phrasing.

We hope you will be able to join us!

We will meet on the second Tuesday of each month. We will begin to gather at 6:30 p.m. and will officially be finished no later than 8:30 p.m. We will respect the time boundaries and respect people joining and leaving as their schedule allows.

At the Table is for everyone and anyone in any situation. This is not limited to members of Holy Cross.
