Community Placemaking grants support creative projects that empower and involve community members to make changes they want to see in their neighborhoods.
In 2017 Metro awarded $100,000 in grants to projects across Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington Counties. The winning projects support conventional and progressive placemaking projects that demonstrate a commitment to racial equity by both established and emerging organizations. They come from and support our black, Latino, Asian and Pacific Islander and youth communities, and they use art and engagement to address pressing regional issues. Next grant making cycle will kick off in January of 2018. Join us in December to meet the Metro support staff for this program as well as a grantee from the pilot cycle and one of the grant committee members.
