Stewardship Outside the Box

with Christina Diss and Nicole West

Stewardship is a critical piece of any development program. But stewardship efforts are sometimes overlooked due to an organization’s limited resources. As the number of nonprofits surge in our region and the competition for philanthropic dollars increase, organizations can no longer afford to put stewardship on the backburner. Focusing on stewardship will allow your nonprofit to increase funding, improve renewal rates and enhance a donors experience with your organization.

Stewardship Outside the Box will teach attendees:
-How to measure their stewardship efforts
-How to implement a comprehensive stewardship plan with a limited budget and resources
-Who should be involved in their nonprofit’s stewardship efforts

This session will include information about
-Engaging volunteers and non-development staff in stewardship efforts
-Connecting donors to your organization’s mission and beneficiaries
-Loyalty societies and other annual giving societies
-Utilizing key players on your team in your strategy
-Incorporating stewardship into activities already occurring at your organization
-Properly stewarding those who make unrestricted gifts
-Stewarding first time donors
And more!

Stewardship is more than saying thank you or sending a tax receipt. It is about carefully managing a relationship with a donor, ensuring the gifts they’ve graciously entrusted to our organizations are properly managed, and showing them the impact their philanthropy has on the organization and those they serve.
