Get a Grant! How to use GrantSelect at the Beaverton City Library 

Join a Beaverton City Librarian to learn more about GrantSelect: an online database of funding opportunities such as grants (for programs, projects, planning, start-up, endowments, technical assistance, facilities and equipment, etc.), awards, and fellowships.

Funding opportunities range from pure research grants to arts programs, biomedical and health care research, community services programs, children and youth programs, K-12 education funding, international programs, and operating grants for nonprofit organizations.

Each record includes:

• Contact information
• Sponsor name and address
• Subject terms for related searches
• Type of sponsor (Federal agency, foundation, research institute, etc.)

Each record also includes (where available):

• URLs to more information on the funding opportunity
• Deadline date(s)
• Restrictions on who may aply (including geographic restrictions)
• Lists of previous awards
• Amount(s) of grant or award
• Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number
• Populations encouraged to apply (e.g., women, minorities, disabled)
• RFA and PA numbers for NIH grants
• Program numbers for NSF grants

More than a simple directory, each database record lists detailed information about a grant program, organized so that a grantseeker can see at-a-glance if the potential funder is a good fit. Search for grants can be done by keyword (or keywords), geographic location, subject heading, or any combination of the above. Advanced search tools are also available for more targeted searches. Additional search parameters include program type, sponsor name, sponsor type, title of grant, deadline, restrictions, requirements and description. Searches can also be limited to a specific category segment (such as Special Populations) or include all segments for a broader list of search results. GrantSelect also includes grant programs from sponsors outside the United States including Canada.
