Join us for an informative luncheon program as our panel of experts discusses the evolving concept of Green Streets. We will first examine Green Streets from a planning and design perspective, and look at how it aligns with other sustainability concepts such as “complete streets” and “green Infrastructure.” We will also review Green Streets policies that have already been implemented by local governments across the country, and how these policy approaches might be applied in the San Diego region. A number of case studies, including the 14th Street Promenade in San Diego and Mission Blvd in Oceanside, will be examined to reveal design challenges, solutions and lessons learned in the implementation of Green Streets. Speaker presentations will be followed by a full-panel Q&A.
Speakers will include Mike Singleton AICP, CTP, LEED AP, PLA, Principal KTUA, Bob Leiter FAICP, Retired Planning Director, Kathleen Garcia FASLA, LEED, AP, Planning and Community Development Director, City of Del Mar, Rick Barrett LEED AP, Principal M.I.G. and Phil Armstrong PLA, ASLA, Senior Landscape Architect, The Lightfoot Planning Group.
After the four speakers have concluded, a question and answer session will allow speakers to interact with each other and the audience.
Planning Commission members are invited to attend at the APA member price!
