Leadership Action Projects are identified by a nonprofit organization addressing an organizational challenge or strategic issue. Leadership Brevard class members work in teams on a consultant basis, performing research and proposing creative, sustainable solutions. This commitment is designed as a beneficial experience not only for the organization but for our participants as well, helping them gain a better understanding of community needs and a deeper appreciation for community involvement.
Several LAP’s are undertaken each year and result in community impact with these kind of numbers as only a portion of the value that is received by both the participating nonprofits and the class members as participants in a “learning laboratory”.
In 2013-2014 5 teams of Leadership Brevard class of 2014 members X 500 hours per team equals 2500 volunteer hours x $22.14 average volunteer estimated wage = $55,350.00
