LEAD Brevard with support from the Boeing Company and the Community Foundation for Brevard presents Getting Governance Right… Governance Matters for board members and staff leaders serving nonprofit organizations in Brevard.

About the workshop: This full day workshop offers “best practices” current information about board governance; including roles and responsibilities of boards and how board and staff work together; effective board recruitment; the board’s role in fundraising; and board self-assessment and development. Examples of tools used for board development will be provided. In addition, participants registered for this session will participate in a board self-assessment survey; results of the survey will be shared (in aggregate form) as part of the workshop as a featured tool for board development.

Ms. Cheatham leads strategic consulting services for the Center, providing services directly to clients and oversight  to contracted consulting services provided to nonprofits through foundation capacity building programs.  Ms. Cheatham is a frequent speaker and program moderator as an expert on topics including governance, planning, social enterprise and entrepreneurship.  She has developed, facilitated and led award-winning management development programs for entrepreneurs and non-profit leaders.
