Single-handed Sailing

Learn the fundamentals of single-handing a small keelboat.  Classes will be held on the Ideal 18, a perfect boat for your first single-handed sail.  You will gain confidence in your skippering abilities as you plan and execute mooring departures and returns completely on your own.  You'll learn how to reef underway, manage the tiller while you perform necessary tasks, and learn to plan a safe sail in appropriate conditions.  You'll be more confident taking out a group of non-sailors as well.

Class meets twice, dates and time TBA based on instructor availability.  Three students and one instructor per class.  Course fee is $100.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to sail our Ideal 18s without a crew member.
